If you win the monthly drawing for LPAPA membership (eligible simply by entering our April contest) as a member you may submit work into LPAPA monthly Gallery Shows* at the Forest and Ocean Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA (one of the highest selling, most competitive and to hardest to access art market in the US).

Can you believe this is colored pencil? Neither could we! While our ascetic is typically not photo-realism this piece made both a visual impact and a statement about the subject. Jesse’s strong drawing skills and mastery of the medium laid the foundation for an emotionally powerful piece. Photo-realism works best when mastery of technique is used as a vehicle to tell a story and not just to convey the technical ability to accurately record something. Well done, Jesse!
